Additional Klipsch Synergy SUB-10 Subwoofer Speaker (Single, Black) Information

A masterpiece of sound and design, the Synergy Series SUB-10 subwoofer shakes things up with its rock-solid performances. Its extraordinary power adds a dose of "reality" to movie explosions and other special effects, as well as reveals commonly elusive lower musical tones. The SUB-10 reaches deeper and hits harder thanks to a 10" down-firing driver coupled to a highly efficient BASH amplifier that creates 200 watts of continuous power and 420 watts of dynamic power. The subwoofer's built-in, steep-slope (24dB/octave) low-pass crossover is continuously adjustable from 40 to 120Hz. An "auto power" feature enables the subwoofer to turn itself on and off (standby) automatically, based on the presence or absence of an audio signal. A blue/red dual color LED display on the front of the subwoofer indicates whether the unit is on or in standby mode. In addition to delivering a bass impact that's beyond restraint, the SUB-10 features a new industrial design that is refined and aggressive.

What Customers Say About Klipsch Synergy SUB-10 Subwoofer Speaker (Single, Black):

If you are designing an actual "home theater" you'd probably be better with the SUB-12. Not to mention turning it up any higher would probably annoy all the neighbors around and below my apartment. I haven't needed to turn the volume past about 1/3, and anything over that is just too much. Klipsch actually recommends pairing its quinet SL speakers with the SUB-12, but I am glad I saved the money and went with this instead. It is heavy, and big, but not too big.

In my non technical opinion, If you are looking for a great subwoofer for the above-average living room theater this is perfect. I enjoy nice deep bass, but it should blend well with the rest of the sound you are hearing, and this subwoofer does a great job. Once I hooked mine up to a Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K 7-Channel A/V Receiver (Black) along with Klipsch Quintet SL Home Theater System (Set of Five, Black) it was time to test it out. Initially, when unpacking you realize this is a solid subwoofer. The auto-on feature works great, and the blue power light comes on as soon as it receives a signal from the receiver.

On a side note, If you have narrowed your search down to Klipsch subwoofers/speakers (I guarantee you won't regret either) you may be wondering if you should go with the SUB-10 or SUB-12.

I have a pretty small apartment, and this thing can handle even bigger. But overall this is a great product. Received this sub a couple of weeks ago, and it sounds great. I had to turn it down a little bit because of the size of my apartment.

My situation is rather unusual since the mains are situated quite far up a cathedral ceiling. Nevertheless I find it a quality product for my needs. Depending on the source, I always vary the value between 30-50% gain and fine tune the crossover to compliment the recording.I have to agree with another reviewer that the SUB-12 is indeed a superior SW. The sound quality is far superior to a Polk SW which is part of my home theater room, but I'm more particular to music listening than I am to movie sounds.Sure there are better 10" SW- (Klipsch's own XW-500 comes to mind), but at a price. Sadly the SUB12, in my case, was overkill and overpowered the acoustics of my space, so I returned it for this.

Oddly enough, I'm using this in a space with in ceiling speakers (also Klipsch, 8" tiltable). need" for deep bass frequencies varies, so one must custom adjust the speaker settings to their liking. I recommend placing a SW not only correctly in the room layout, but if possible also to have easy access to the back knobs for loudness and frequency adjustments. The SUB-10 offers a quality sound but leaning more toward generic compared to its bigger brother. This well constructed box emanates a robust , variable frequency bass signal to complement most home theater systems.

As each space is different, and every person's "tolerance vs. I originally purchased the 12" and was amazed at the musical quality it delivered.

I like the fact that the speaker faces the floor, which increases resonance. For the price, I believe this is a good choice. Great volume and tone from this subwoofer. The room it is in currently is carpeted, but I am going to replace the carpet with wood and I think that will double or triple the effect of the speaker.

Only thing is that if this is perfect i wonder how the sub12 sounds like. I coupled this with the Klipsch Quintet III and it has been a perfect marriage. I've been all smiles since then. In my opinion this is even better than BOSE who charge 10x more. The bass delivered by the sub10 is so deep that i'm amazed it is coming from it.

Please buy it if you are considering. My walls now vibrate and the movie experience is 100% better. It goes so low that it feels like a rumble and it is also very powerful. After setting up this sub, i have to say that i am officially a Klipsch convert. I've been procrastinating for about 2 months and finally decided to buy it.

If you're on a budget but need a quality system, this is the one to buy.
